Tracking AED pads, batteries, and consumables

Add pads and batteries with automatic expiration dates, manage lots, and archive replaced parts.

Pads and batteries expire on their own schedules, independent of the AED itself — tracking them is most of what keeps an AED program compliant. Open any AED to manage its consumables.

Adding a pad or battery#

  1. On the AED's page, choose Add consumable.
  2. Pick the part from the compatible parts catalog — brand, model, and shelf life fill in automatically. (Free-text is there for odd parts.)
  3. Enter the installed date and the lot number from the packaging — the expiration date calculates itself from the shelf life, and the lot number is what recalls match against.
  4. Save. Expiration tracking for that part is now live.

When you replace a part#

  • Archive the old part rather than deleting it — archiving stops its expiration alerts while preserving the history of what was installed when.
  • Archived parts live under View archived, where they can be restored (installed again) or permanently removed.
  • Combined cartridges like the HeartSine Pad-Pak are presented as the single unit they are — one entry, one expiry.

Note: Expiring and expired consumables surface in five places from this one record: the equipment list badge, the unit's page, the dashboard, the calendar, and Alerts. Enter it once; be reminded everywhere.
