FDA recall notices

What a recall notice means and how to confirm whether your unit is affected.

  1. What the notice shows
  2. What to do

AED Log monitors FDA recall data for AEDs. When a published recall may match equipment you own, a notice appears on the affected unit and an alert opens. A match means your unit may be affected — recalls name ranges of lots and serials, and yours may or may not fall inside.

What the notice shows#

  • The FDA facts: recall number, the firm, the classification and what it means, the reason, and key dates.
  • The affected lots and serial ranges to check against.
  • A link to the full FDA notice, plus any guidance from AED Log.

What to do#

  1. Find your unit's lot and serial — on the device label, and in the portal if you recorded them.
  2. Compare against the listed ranges.
  3. Record your confirmation on the notice: affected or not affected. Either answer becomes part of the unit's permanent record.
  4. If affected: follow the manufacturer's instructions in the FDA notice, and contact info@aedlog.com for replacement help. Keep the unit's status honest while it is out of service.

Note: Recall confirmation is a manager action — it is a compliance statement about your fleet.
