What you track for each oxygen cylinder

Each emergency oxygen unit keeps its cylinder details and the test date that comes due.

Brand or manufacturer, and model

Cylinder size, such as a D cylinder

Serial number

Hydrostatic test due, with an alert before it

In-service date and regulator type

Notes, an assigned person and a QR label

The monthly emergency oxygen inspection checklist

AED Log's default emergency oxygen checklist runs monthly:

Is the pressure gauge in the green, adequately filled? (critical)

Does the regulator attach and work correctly? (critical)

Are the mask and tubing present and sealed?

Is the cylinder free of visible damage or corrosion? (critical)

Is the hydrostatic test current? (critical)

Is the tamper or seal indicator intact?

A failed check opens a corrective action and flags the cylinder. Administrators can change the questions or the interval to match your own protocol.

Hydrostatic test due-date alerts

AED Log warns you before an oxygen cylinder's hydrostatic test comes due, and puts the date on the compliance calendar.

The test interval depends on the cylinder's U.S. DOT specification (49 CFR 180.209), and the last test date is stamped on the cylinder. Enter the next due date once and it appears on the dashboard, the calendar and the alerts.

Alerts go to the person responsible or to everyone at the site, by email or in Slack, Microsoft Teams or Discord. AED Log's FDA recall notices cover AED devices only, so it does not track oxygen recalls.

Incident reports for oxygen use

When oxygen is given, record the response for review, and refill or replace the cylinder.

The responder

The reason oxygen was given

The flow rate

How long it was given

Whether EMS was called, and when they arrived

The outcome, with patient details restricted to owners and administrators

Emergency oxygen add-on pricing

Emergency oxygen tracking is an add-on at $10 per cylinder per year, on top of your AED plan.

Every account starts with an AED plan, which covers all your AEDs at one flat rate for the tier. Add one license per active oxygen unit, and pay only the prorated difference when you add more during the year.
