Recording an inspection
Walk the checklist, attach photos, and understand pass/fail results.

Inspections are the heartbeat of a compliant program. Users with the Inspector role (and above) can record them, starting from an equipment row, the unit's page, or the Inspections page's Due tab.
Walking the checklist#
- Open the unit and choose Record inspection — the checklist is specific to its equipment type.
- Answer each question: pass/fail checks, yes/no questions, numbers, selections, or text. Each answer shows immediately whether it passes, and the running overall result (Passing / Failing / Incomplete) updates as you go.
- Add per-question comments where something deserves explanation, overall notes, and — for anything failing — corrective-action notes describing what needs to happen.
- Attach photos or PDFs as evidence (up to 10 MB each). A photo of the status indicator is cheap insurance.
- Adjust Inspected at if you are back-filling (it defaults to now), and submit. Submit stays disabled until every required question is answered.
After you submit#
- The inspection is permanent history — it can be read and downloaded as a branded PDF forever, but never edited.
- A pass resets the unit's next-due date.
- A fail flags the unit "not safe to use" and opens a corrective action — see Resolving corrective actions.
Tip: Scan the unit's QR label to jump straight to it — see Printing QR labels for equipment.
