Where Arch is strong
Arch is strong on the medical and public-safety side of an AED program: a national team of AED medical directors, registration with 911 centers and EMS, post-use support, and a store that knows what’s about to expire.
- Medical direction. Arch describes a national team of AED medical directors from emergency medicine, cardiology and electrophysiology, with a physician assigned to each program.
- Post-use support. After an AED is used, Arch sends a loaner of the same make and model by next-day air, reviews the ECG data and replaces the pads at no additional charge.
- Registration with 911 and EMS. Arch files AED registrations with the local 911 center and EMS agency where required, keeps date-stamped copies, and says it works with more than 6,500 911 centers (PSAPs). Public safety agencies use its portal free.
- An integrated store. The Arch store cross-references upcoming expirations, ships same day and updates your account after shipment.
- Distributor programs. Distributors can resell Arch as a new revenue line, on co-branded sites with their name, contact details and logo.
- Custom reports. Drag-and-drop reports with CSV export.
Annuvia, which makes Arch, became part of Cardio Partners, a Sarnova company, in 2021, according to Sarnova’s acquisition release. If medical direction and EMS registration are the heart of what you need, Arch is built around them.
Where AED Log is strong
AED Log is strong as the software for the whole program: published prices, every kind of safety equipment, alerts in chat, and a portal distributors can run entirely under their own brand.
- Published pricing. A flat price per tier of AEDs with unlimited users and locations. See pricing.
- Medical direction when you need it. Medical Direction is an optional add-on at $65 per AED per year, so AEDs in states that don’t require it don’t pay for it.
- More than AEDs. Fire extinguishers, first aid cabinets, eyewash stations, Narcan, EpiPens, Stop the Bleed kits, emergency oxygen and vehicles. See equipment types.
- Full white-label. Distributors run AED Log under their own name, logo and domain, and the AED Log name never appears to their customers. See the reseller program.
- Alerts where your team works. Email right away or in a daily or weekly digest, plus Slack, Microsoft Teams and Discord.
- Inspections with checklists. Monthly inspections on any phone with a pass or fail on each question, and a corrective action when a check fails. See AED inspection tracking.
AED Log doesn’t register AEDs with 911 centers for you or sell supplies itself: it records the registration and expiration dates and reminds you before they lapse.
Pricing compared at 1, 10 and 50 AEDs
Arch doesn’t publish prices for AED owners or distributors, and its site offers a free demo instead. AED Log’s published prices for 1, 10 and 50 AEDs are below, with and without its Medical Direction add-on.
| AEDs | AED Log | AED Log + Medical Direction | Arch |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $114 | $179 | By quote |
| 10 | $660 | $1,310 | By quote |
| 50 | $3,000 | $6,250 | By quote |
Because Arch bundles medical direction, the fair comparison is the right-hand AED Log column. Ask Annuvia for a quote at your AED count and check what it includes, such as post-use loaners and pad replacement, which AED Log’s Medical Direction add-on doesn’t.
Switching from Arch to AED Log
Export your AEDs and their dates from Arch’s CSV reports, put them into AED Log’s CSV templates, and our team imports them. Plan the medical direction handover first, so no AED goes without it in a state that requires it.
- Arrange medical direction. Add AED Log’s Medical Direction to the AEDs that need it, or keep your current physician, before the Arch term ends.
- Export your records from Arch’s reports: each AED’s location, brand, model, serial number and pad and battery dates.
- Fill in our CSV templates, and our team imports your locations, AEDs and responders. There’s no self-serve bulk import.
- Keep your EMS registrations current. Record each AED’s registration and its expiration in AED Log, so you’re reminded before it lapses.
- Print QR labels and run your next monthly inspection in AED Log.
